Micro chipping your pet can give you, the owner; piece of mind. Imagine the heart ache of a much loved pet going missing, being stolen, or is involved in an accident and taken to a vet or rescue centre and then cannot be identified at least with a microchip inserted one scan and you could be reunited with your pet sooner rather than not at all, which all too often is the situation.

Micro chipping your pet, only takes a few seconds, the chip is about the size of a grain of rice and is compatible with your pets’ skin, a handheld device will read the signal that the chip emits, and the chip can last the lifetime of your pet. Some chips do migrate around the body so if they are not found on the back of the neck then a scan of the body is needed.

Unlike a collar the chip cannot be removed as it sits under your pets’ skin and has a unique identification number. Micro chipping your pet is therefore a two step process; getting the chip inserted by a trained practitioner or vet and then registering the chip with the company who made the chip, you will then receive confirmation of its unique number so in the event your ownership was called into question, you will hold the relevant proof. Remember to inform the micro chip company if you have a change of address so they can update their database.

Moreover, if you intend to travel to other European countries then under The Pet Travel Scheme (PETS), your dog, cat or ferret will need to be micro chipped BEFORE they have their rabies vaccinations.

As a responsible breeder all our puppies, when they are born, will be micro chipped at our expense before they go to their new owner, ownership will then transfer to the new owners.
